Brass plaque affixed to a pavement stone

I was cycling to my studio. She was walking on the pavement next to the bicycle lane. We passed each other. A laminated plastic card from her workplace was dangling from a lanyard around her neck. She hadn’t seen me as I sped by. I stopped and called her name. She was wearing headphones so she didn’t hear me call. I was in a hurry. She seemed to be in a hurry. I thought “Oh well, we’ll talk some other time” and I cycled on.
